Why It's Important to Look at Your Feet If You Have Back or Leg Pain

Orthotic Foot PictureDo you have lower back pain, hip pain, knee pain, or sciatica pain? Your feet may be to blame.

Although your feet may not hurt, they could still be causing your problems. When your feet are not positioned or supported correctly, they can cause biomechanical issues, neurological deficits, spinal misalignments, and problems throughout the rest of the body. If your foot arch drops (resulting in flat feet), then you lose the stability to the foundation of your entire body, similar to how a bad foundation of a house will cause it to fall apart. Your knee will become misaligned, then your pelvis will drop, resulting in a short leg. This can cause spinal pain, neck pain, and headaches. All which may be coming from your FEET!

A good way to fix this problem is with chiropractic care to restore the alignment and foot orthotics to provide the support. Orthotics will often help to realign the bones within the foot and ankle and therefore take pressure off other parts of the body such as the back, neck, shoulders, hips, and knees. In addition, orthotics will help with distributing your weight properly and take further pressure off your toes, bunions and other parts of the foot. Everyone’s feet are different and your left foot is most likely different from your right foot. That is the importance of CUSTOM foot orthotics versus GENERAL orthotics that you can buy from the store. Custom orthotics are molded directly from your feet and designed accordingly to the needs of each of your feet.

If you suffer from the following, you shoulder consider custom foot orthotics, along with chiropractic care.

• Lower back pain

• Foot pain, Plantar fasciitis

• Achilles tendonitis

• Hip pain

• Knee pain

• Sciatica

• Leg length difference (short leg)
